Chongqing Tchaikovsky Conservatory will admit its first undergraduate cohort in 2026.

About the Conservatory

The Conservatory is a non-independent-legal-person Sino-foreign cooperative education institution established by Chongqing Normal University and Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory with approval from the Ministry of Education of China. It is a school of Chongqing Normal University and introduces the educational philosophy, curriculum, teaching methods and faculty resources of Moscow Conservatory.

Programmes

Music Performance (Sino-foreign cooperative programme)

Developing performers with strong theoretical foundations and professional ability for solo, ensemble, vocal, choral, conducting and teaching work.

Musicology (Sino-foreign cooperative programme)

Developing musicology professionals with theoretical knowledge, broad humanities education and an international outlook for research, teaching, editing, production and media work.

Admissions plan

The planned 2026 intake is 100 undergraduate students. Final programmes and provincial quotas are subject to publication by the competent authorities.

Entry process

Admissions are included in the national undergraduate admissions plan and follow the National College Entrance Examination and applicable national admissions policies.

Tuition and financial support

Tuition for Musicology and Music Performance cooperative programmes is RMB 60,000 per student per year.

National and Chongqing student support policies apply. Eligible students facing financial difficulty may use the green channel and apply for scholarships and national student loans.

Eligibility review

Professional ability and documentation are reviewed after enrolment. Misrepresentation, unmet entry requirements or incomplete procedures are handled under applicable rules.

Awards

Students who complete the curriculum and meet Chongqing Normal University graduation and degree requirements receive a bachelor's graduation certificate and Bachelor of Arts degree from Chongqing Normal University.
